PLAN A VISIT

Directions, and what to expect

upon your first visit to First UMC of Hobe Sound

GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at First UMC of Hobe Sound a great one!

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

We are located on US1/Federal Highway in Hobe Sound, right across from the Hobe Sound Post Office. If you are using Interstate 95 to get here, you should take the Hobe Sound exit, on Bridge Road, and you'll travel about 7 miles to US1, where you'll make a left turn (North) and then travel another mile or so to our campus.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

We plan our worship services to be about 60 minutes long. Each service will have opportunities for the congregation to join in song. In our Contemporary services, songs will be accompanied by our praise band and led by our praise singers. In our Traditional services, familiar hymns will be accompanied by our pianist and other musicians, and led by our music director.

An inspiring message will be presented by our pastor, or, occasionally, by a guest pastor or speaker. And, on the first Sunday of each month, we serve Holy Communion during our service. At the end of each service, we offer the opportunity for our congregation to offer some portion of what God has graciously provided to us, but, if you are a visitor, please, feel no pressure to participate in this. We are all growing in our appreciation of God's gifts, and in our appreciation of God's call as to how we are to respond.

Sundays at our church are exciting, casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week - and in our Children's and Families' Ministry, we make this a priority. The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a detailed check-in process for our children's program the first time that you visit. You’ll want to leave yourself an extra ten minutes to get signed in for the children's ministry experience. Our children's ministry is active for every Sunday worship service for kids ages infant through Grade 5.
